It has been more than a week the FloorballTrade.com Project publicly started. There are many countries playing floorball so the interest is huge. There are about 70 clubs, 40 trainers and more than 500 players registered in one week! Participation in our project includes many people from the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Finland, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Denmark – other countries will be addressed soon.

Hi Hanys, you are probably the first fellow Czech countryman playing abroad, how did your engagement start?

My engagement in UHC St. Gallen started shortly after European championship in 1995 held in Switzerland. The functionaries of the club addressed about 5 Czech players and I was lucky to be one of them. At that time I was studying the university and had passed the second year of study at the faculty. We agreed the conditions on August Czech Open in Prague. The temptation to go to Switzerland was strong but I was not motivated by the chance of playing floorball only, which may be a surprise for a majority of readers, but the possibility of getting to know the life in a foreign country, being more independent and having the possibility of studying the German language. After having signed the contract I suspended my studies and set out into the Helvetian Cross country.

How does a lad from Russia force his way into the Czech major league?

I got to the league with the help of my good girlfriend Oxana Shamanina, who convinced the president of FBC Liberec club that it was worth risking taking me to the team.
